Ariel had a deep and special love for animals, and one of his dreams was to become a veterinarian one day. In his memory and in the spirit of this dream, we visited the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) branch in Rehovot. The visit was organized by Dr. Yael Ostrometsky, who works there.
We were warmly welcomed and had the opportunity to hear fascinating and moving explanations from the director, Mr. Aviel Kedem, who introduced us to the important work carried out there. We learned about the daily life of the animals and about the dedicated efforts to care for them and find them loving homes. At present, 60 dogs are staying at the branch, all waiting to be adopted.
For all of us, this was a very meaningful visit. Being surrounded by animals  and seeing the compassion and devotion with which they are cared for, brought us especially close to Ariel and to the love he had for them.
We left deeply touched by this special place, with the feeling that we had done something truly meaningful in Ariel’s memory — something that reflected his kindness, his love of animals, and the dreams he carried in his young heart.
We are certain that Ariel would have been very happy to know that 21 years after his passing, we chose to honor his memory in this way and to continue, in our own small way, in his spirit.
